Project Timeline

Adyne - African Diaspora Youth Network in Europe

- EntrepreneurYOUTH - Inclusive Social Youth Entrepreneurship for Better Social Change .

The project "EntrepreneurYOUTH" involves 400 people with fewer opportunities and social youth workers from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Ireland, France, UK, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Cape Verde, Somalia, Togo, Uganda, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, Romania, Lithuania and Sweden. By focusing on these countries and specific target group, we will provide opportunities for education and skills training, improvement of access to basic health care services and economic empowerment of individuals, thus creating a ripple impact on their families and communities through long-term sustainable practices. This project sets out to bring a new change to society, through innovative solutions, but also to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment both in Africa and Europe, as well as the lack of social capital and increasing cumulative disparity within the European societies that they reside in.

MEDIA & INCLUSION: A SEMINAR FOR YOUTH LEADERS OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA LIVING IN EUROPE

The main focus for this seminar was its content, which we wanted to present to the participants. Previously, we had few proposals discussing ways to present the African Diaspora to the European society in a method, which is beyond the migrant, refugees or the deprived people tag, which they carried for decades; all without having to go into the reasons behind migration, fighting the general divisive mainstream media discourse of ‘us vs. them” and the “good vs. bad migrant.”.

For the first time ADYNE have managed to organise a seminar on Media and Inclusion in Brussels, which was directed and coordinated by young African leaders from the European diaspora communities.

The seminar was very successful due to the enthusiasm and desire of both the trainers and the participants to identify and complete the objectives of this particular session
